Description:
Antonio Villarruel, AIA provided full architectural services for Clinicas de Camino Real, a new medical clinic three times the original size of an old clinic that was destroyed in the Northridge earthquake. Located in the Central Business District of Fillmore, it contains a city required retail space on a portion of the first floor. The masonry building provides for medical services on the first floor and psychological, x-ray and health educational services accessible on the second floor. Inside the building is a two-story lobby atrium with a skylight above, along with state-of-the-art communications and medical equipment throughout the structure. The exterior has two different colors of brick in varying patterns as well as wood detail at windows and glass fiber reinforcement concrete base an access elements. There is also room for medical-related vehicles at the rear of the structure.
